interzum 2021, the major trade fair for furniture components, supplies and semi-finished products, will take place from 4 to 7 May, but this year the event will be online only thanks to the digital platform interzum@home.
The leading platform for the furniture manufacturing and interior design industry will offer a completely new trade fair experience to exhibitors and visitors alike, while still providing them with all the benefits they expect from an event like interzum: opportunities to get in touch, to compare notes, to discover trends and products for designing furniture that responds to a society in constant and rapid change.

An effective and comprehensive digital platform

As a state-of-the-art digital platform, interzum@home is perfectly in tune with the times, offering creative solutions to current challenges. Companies such as Hettich, Häfele, Blum, Vauth-Sagel, Grass, Kesseböhmer, Schüco Alu Competence, Titus, Samet, Rehau, Sugatsune, Elektra, Schattdecor, Impress, Continental, Sonae Arauco, Unilin, Leggett & Platt and Fecken-Kirfel have already confirmed their participation in interzum@home.
At this particular time the industry needs a forum for a global exchange of ideas and inspiration, which the digital format of interzum will intelligently provide. The digital offering is not to be seen as a simple substitute for the in-person event, but can offer completely new perspectives. Those who wish to exchange views with industry experts or find inspiration from the trends set by exhibitors will be able to do so in a completely relaxed atmosphere and at a time that suits them best.

Numerous special events

There will also be numerous special events accompanying the online fair: conferences, seminars, virtual meetings with which to reach an international audience that has been far too long removed from the great world showcase.
The materials.cologne conference and the digital stages dedicated to trends, smart green materials and mattress recycling will address very interesting topics on a commercial level. The Product Stage as a showcase for exhibitors and the interzum awards will draw attention to new products and innovative solutions from exhibitors.

interzum award: intelligent material & design 2021

Participants at interzum@home 2021 can nominate their technological innovations, pioneering materials and product innovations for the interzum award: intelligent material & design 2021. The competition, organised for the eleventh time by Koelnmesse in cooperation with Red Dot, aims to recognise the design quality of the products and materials presented at interzum.
Entries, to be submitted by 12 April, will this year only be accepted in digital format, in the following categories: “Function & Components“, “Materials & Nature“ and “Textile & Machinery“.
A jury of six experts will assess all competition entries in terms of design quality, functionality and innovation potential in the three categories. The interzum awards ceremony will take place on 4 May 2021, also in digital format.
