From 21 to 24 May 2019, the world will meet again in Cologne for the next edition of Interzum, the world's largest event for supplies, components and semi-finished products for the furniture industry.
Already at the end of the first registration phase, the organizers of Interzum expect that the next edition could set new records in the history of the exhibition, which is rightly considered the world's largest event for companies from the sectors represented at the fair.
An event that confirms itself as the showcase par excellence of innovation, technological development of materials and products able to attract tens of thousands of visitors to Cologne, also attracted by some themes that will characterize the 2019 edition such as the digitization of products and processes, the best use of resources, sustainability.
Thomas Rosolia, CEO of Koelnmesse Italia, said that Interzum will undoubtedly be a great opportunity to catch the trends in terms of functionality and aesthetics of furniture. The 2019 edition will be attended as always, alongside the big names in the sector, by a number of highly innovative small and medium-sized companies. Current figures indicate that for about 14% of the registered companies this will be their first experience at Interzum.
“Next year - explained Rubolia - we are expecting something like 1,800 exhibitors, which means that within two editions we have increased the number of companies present by about 300. And Italy is doing its part, with 340 companies that will be in May 2019 in Cologne, about thirty of them for the first time. We are also pleased with the choice of 35 companies to be present in the four group shows that we organize such as Koelnmesse Italia in the segments “Function & Components“, in halls 5.1 and 8, and “Materials & Nature“, in halls 6 and 10.2“.
The “Squares“ are back in 2019, real themed spaces that collect and propose ideas and novelties on specific themes: “Mobile Spaces“ in Hall 10.1, “Surfaces & Wood Design“ in Hall 6, “Disruptive Materials“ in Hall 4.2, “Digitalisation“ in Hall 3.2, “Digital Printing“ also in Hall 3.2 and “Tiny Spaces“, in the spaces on the Boulevard Nord.
The adhesives segment
Interzum is the event that has always presented the most innovative products for the furniture industry and among them we find adhesives. For this reason, the organizers decided to create a new “strong segment“ within the event, taking the solicitations from many exhibitors such as Alfa Klebstoffe/Simalfa, Everad Adhesives, the Italian “new entries“ Concorde and GMC Costruzioni Meccaniche, Jowat, Kimyapsan Kimya, Quin Global, Robatech, Saba Adhesives & Sealants, Sefa Kimya, Wakol, Xchem International, Zaklady Chemiczne Bochem and Zelu Chemie. All these companies will be present in Cologne, some of them preferring Interzum to other events held in Germany at the same time. The Italian companies Frabo Adesivi, Mastek and Savaré have already confirmed their presence in Cologne this year too.
The decision to give more prominence to the furniture adhesives sector underlines the closeness of these materials to the “finished product“ in its most important components. Interzum wants to be a highly stimulating showcase for an effective comparison between coatings, glues, decorations and finishes. A showcase where high-performance adhesives are presented that are an integral part of a larger concept of quality, but also of healthy environments.
The “Textile & Machinery“ segment
Interzum has always been the absolute capital for the “Textile & Machinery“ segment, the only event in the world to devote great space and attention to technology and supplies for textiles, padding and mattresses. Within this segment the leading companies in the sector will present their latest innovations, innovative ideas, high performance and high quality materials, sophisticated technologies and machinery for textile processing.
In the next edition there will be four pavilions dedicated to this sector, the 9, 10.1, 11.1 and 11.2, where you can find everything related to the production of mattresses and upholstery, from coatings to springs, from structures to polyurethanes, from feathers to trimmings.
Great expectations especially for the spaces of pavilions 10.1, where a series of manufacturers of technology for the production of mattresses will find a new and wider location: a new layout in which they believed important Italian companies such as Dueffe and Gruppo Grassi, along with some other international market leaders such as Amelco, Macau, Matsushita, MPT Group, Springform, Umit Makina or Zhejiag Shaoxing Huajian.
