From 21 to 24 May 2019, the world's largest event for the subcontracting industry Interzum will take place in Cologne. More than 1,800 companies from around 60 countries will be presenting new products, innovative technologies and cutting-edge solutions.
Every two years, interzum presents all the innovations that will be a reference point and have a decisive influence on the production of furniture and interior design.
The event covers the entire range of the world market: from hardware to glass and lighting, from surfaces to wood and natural materials, from leather to upholstery materials and machinery for the production of upholstered furniture and mattresses.
In the three segments of the exhibition “Materials & Nature“, “Function & Components“ and “Textile & Machinery“ the focus will be on innovative surfaces, sustainable materials and new technologies.
Exhibitor presentations will also reflect global megatrends such as digitalisation, individualisation, mobility and urbanisation.
The Squares of interzum
New products can be found not only in the stands of the exhibiting companies, but are also highlighted by the organizers through the “Squares“, meeting places to get in touch with experts, discuss current topics and initiate an exchange of knowledge.
These are the trendsetters that will characterize this year's edition:
Pavilion Square 3.2 “Digitalization: Focus on Consumer Trends!”
Pavilion Square 4.2 “Disruptive Materials”
Pavilion Square 6 “Trends in Surfaces & Wood Design”
Pavilion Square 10.1 “Mobile Spaces”
Pavilion 3.2 “Digital Printing”
Increasingly engaging are issues related to the digitisation of products and processes, better use of resources, sustainability and everything that could be useful in small homes.
Shared ideas in the new Speakers Corner
Interzum 2019 will offer for the first time a platform dedicated to the sharing of knowledge between companies, the so-called “Speakers Corner“. In this space, located in the transition between pavilions 4 and 5, the exhibitors of each exhibition segment will provide valuable advances on the latest developments, thus encouraging an interesting exchange of knowledge. More than 30 industry players have joined the initiative and will hold 30-minute summary reports during which they will report, for example, on new forms of design, Smart Home innovations, sustainable materials and energy-saving processing techniques. The Speakers Corner will be open every day and the speeches will be held mainly in English and partly in German.
