According to Findomestic's monthly observatory, created in collaboration with Doxa, six out of ten Italians intend to use the mobile bonus this year.
According to the survey, there is growing interest in smart devices for the home: 52% are interested in investing in these devices, while according to 13% these represent the future.
As for the home, 78% of the interviewees own one of them and 83% are very satisfied; the most rewarding room is the living room (46%), followed by the bedroom (20%) and the kitchen (16%). More than half of the respondents, precisely 58%, said they would like to take advantage of the extension to December 31, 2019 of the mobile bonus to renovate the house or to buy new furniture.
Compared to the month of December, the intentions to purchase homes or apartments rose by 0.2% and 0.7% compared to January 2018, while the restructuring earned 0.3%. The estimated average expenditure declared for the purchase of furniture is € 2,200.
As for smart devices for the home, the greatest interest is directed towards air conditioners (53%) and light bulbs (47%), but then we find security devices such as cameras (46%) and sensors for doors and windows . Category apart from virtual assistants like Google Home and Amazon Alexa, also prompted by the recent television advertising: 16% have already bought one, while 31% will buy it as soon as the house is ready to survey these devices.
Other purchase intentions
In the usual monthly survey of the main market segments, Findomestic records an increase in purchase intentions for both new and used cars. Motorcycles and scooters are down instead.
The information technology, telephony and photography sector continues its fluctuating trend; the only positive sign is in the camera and video camera segment (0.4%).
On the other hand consumer appliances such as TV and hi-fi with a + 0.5% and large appliances with a + 0.6% were good.
Positive sign also for the intentions to buy Italians for leisure time: the “travel and holiday“ item recorded a share of 2.5% and sports equipment 1.1%.
