Eco-sustainability, aesthetic qualities, high performance: these are the main characteristics of the innovative paints that Ica Group will propose again this year at Sicam.
In particular, the protagonists of the Pordenone event will be coatings with S-MATT superpowers and BIO coatings, developed by ICA Group's Research and Development laboratories.
The new chemical-physical testing laboratory, accredited according to the international standard UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005, will also be presented.
S-MATT paints
The paints with S-MATT superpowers are hi-tech products designed for interior furnishings that allow to obtain ultra-matt and totally anti-reflection surfaces, soft to the touch and with extreme resistance. This innovative line of paints is suitable for any type of surface, when you want to obtain ultra-matt surfaces with high performance characteristics from a chemical-physical point of view and with self-repairing properties, maintaining a level of VOC emissions in application below what is achievable with traditional UV products.
The “superpowers“ of the S-MATT paints make them anti-fingerprint, resistant to scratches, coffee stains, cold liquids and have self-repairing properties. It is possible to obtain infinite colours, material effects and surfaces with a regular, uniform and reproducible three-dimensional effect. S-MATT paints are applied with all existing painting technologies for both transparent and pigmented versions.
The line of BIO paints
The BIO line, developed in ICA Group's Research and Development laboratories, is made up of coatings for interiors and exteriors formulated with renewable raw materials, generated by innovative refining processes of “waste“ vegetable substances that are not competitive with human nutrition and are oriented towards the principles of circular economy. From the point of view of sustainability, it goes even further, since its production cycle makes it possible to drastically cut CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
In addition to guaranteeing a high level of environmental sustainability, ICA Group's vegetable-based coatings offer services that set new quality standards for industry. In fact, these coatings have characteristics of hardness, chemical resistance and resistance to light, as well as industrial processability, similar to the corresponding ICA oil-based products and in some cases even higher. They are formulated with acrylic resins and, compared with products already on the market, formulated with alkyd resins from renewable sources, are faster to dry and have greater anti-yellowing properties.
