The new headquarters of Cosmob, the advanced technological centre for experimentation and research on materials related to the wood-furniture sector, was inaugurated on 7 March in Montelabbate. Twenty professionals with mainly technical-scientific skills work in the facility, which covers an area of over 5,000 square metres.
"We inaugurate our new headquarters with the enthusiasm and conviction that we have built an advanced technological infrastructure that will allow us to look to the future with optimism and determination," explained Cosmob President Zeno Avenanti.
An advanced technology centre
In the advanced technology centre there are state-of-the-art testing and experimentation laboratories, research and development areas and the FabLab, the High Technical Specialisation School with ITS courses for training and qualifying the technicians of the future. In addition, EUR 500,000 will be invested through the PNRR to boost the activities of the ITS for the wood-furniture sector: these will be used to set up educational, digital fabrication and materials sustainability laboratories and to create the 'carpentry workshop of the future'.
"The strategic project," emphasised Alessio Gnaccarini, Director of Cosmob, "is aimed at responding to the new needs of the furniture product. Today, increasingly complex and interactive functions with the user are required of the product, modifying its traditional functions. The furniture of the future will in fact be increasingly complex, interactive and sustainable'.
Growth strategy focuses on the territory
Aiming at the territory, also thanks to the synergy with the regional university system, with a view to international growth through recognition and accreditation from the world's most important research and regulatory and certification bodies, is the basis of the growth strategy of Cosmob, which celebrates 40 years of activity this year.
For the president of the Marche Region, Francesco Acquaroli, who spoke at the inauguration ceremony, 'the effectiveness of industrial policy measures is based primarily on the quality and efficiency of the tools used, and Cosmob represents a technological centre of excellence for the Marche'.
The undersecretary at the Ministry of Finance, Lucia Albano, for her part, emphasised that 'the defence and enhancement of Made in Italy represent the priority objectives on which to base the competitiveness of our manufacturing system.
