Even Sicam, the International Exhibition of Components, Accessories and Semi-finished Products for the Furniture Industry, eventually had to decide to postpone the event scheduled from 13 to 16 October 2020.
The Covid-19 emergency has outlined at global level an economic and social situation that has led to obvious restrictions and uncertainties: in this context the organizers of Sicam have chosen to postpone the event to October 2021. The postponement of one year was decided to keep the annual exhibition calendar unchanged and provide the best possible service to the sector. Unfortunately, in these months in the exhibition field there has been a complete absence at all legislative levels in drawing up clear rules and protocols, which makes it impossible at this time already very complex to organize a profitable event for exhibitors and visitors.
A few days ago Carlo Giobbi, CEO of Sicam, said in an interview with FurnishingIdea: “Personally, I believe it is essential that those who will be at the fair can work and communicate effectively, compatibly with the restrictions that will be imposed. For us this is the basic criterion: if we can not ensure working conditions very similar to the usual ones, we will evaluate what to do, obviously after hearing the opinions of our exhibitors too“. The 12th edition of Sicam, International Exhibition of Components, Accessories and Semi-finished Products for the Furniture Industry is therefore postponed, in the same location of the Pordenone Fair, to October 2021, from Tuesday 12th to Friday 15th.
