With positive results beyond expectations, a great edition of Sicam has ended, the International Exhibition of Components, Accessories and Semi-finished Products for the Furniture Industry, which took place from 14th to 17th October at the Exhibition Centre in Pordenone. With over seventeen thousand visitors registered during the four days of opening, the sixth edition of Sicam obtained a very positive result that left satisfied the exhibitors of the event. If foreign markets accounted for approximately 35% of admissions, thus further increasing the rate of internationalization of an event that in this sector has few rivals, it should not be overlooked that Sicam continues to represent the major event for the Italian furniture industry: “from a first quick glance at the records, and according to what the exhibitors themselves told - Carlo Giobbi, organizer of the exhibition, said - we can say that all the big names of Italian furniture were at the Exhibition in these days: it is quite clear that Sicam is a fundamental exhibition event to guard the domestic market, which remains one of the most important in the world of furniture”. In view of the fact that the companies of the supply chain of furniture have been shrinking in number for years, the increase of visits that Sicam 2014 marked constitutes a confidence boost for the sector and demonstrates a zeal that helps to think positively. “We still have to analyze well the recordings - Giobbi said in this regard - but what our exhibitors told us today goes precisely in the direction of an “optimism of reason” for those who project themselves on all markets with ideas and innovative spirit”. Another confirmation that emerges from Sicam 2014 is in terms of quality of visits: the Exhibition of Pordenone has proven once again to be able to preserve unchanged its reputation as a leading international event, involving not only the top players of the exhibition but also world leaders in the furniture industry with their purchase decision-makers. From ninety-five different countries on five continents, foreign operators have registered an attendance level which is definitely higher than last year. “It is confirmed, in this sense - Giobbi has found out, too - the high importance of Sicam for international markets, especially for the emerging ones, to which we look every year with the utmost care. And its importance as a showcase for innovation, design and technical and product innovations that accessories and components can generate every year, to support as much as possible the manufacturers of furniture and home accessories”. The appointment is in Pordenone for the seventh edition of Sicam, scheduled from Tuesday 13th to Friday 16th October 2015.
