The twelfth edition of Sicam, the International Exhibition of Components, Accessories and Semi-finished Products for the Furniture Industry, the first international trade fair in the sector to be held in Pordenone from 12 to 15 October.
Skipped last year due to the Covid-19 emergency, the fair dedicated to the world of furniture supplies is awaited by exhibitors and visitors to the sector almost as if to mark a return to normality, to the need and pleasure of meeting again in person.
Sicam: a lively, content-rich and effective fair
The event will host over 500 exhibitors from 30 countries, mainly from Germany, Spain, Turkey, Austria, Greece and Poland. As of July 16, more than 90 percent of the exhibition space is already occupied, and this year, too, pavilion 10 will be set up, a temporary hall that the organizers wanted to keep in order to guarantee specific safety measures and to be able to offer larger refreshment and service areas.
The list of exhibitors, updated in real time and, as always, available online at https://www.exposicam.it/it/p-826/elenco-espositori-2021/, once again demonstrates how Sicam is a lively, rich in content and effective fair. In spite of a few defections in the hardware sector, many important companies from the world of surfaces have decided to return to Pordenone, while the growing presence of companies from the sectors of ceramics, taps and fittings, and stone materials complete the offer of a fair where it is possible to find everything you need to make furniture for any environment, from the home to the contract.
Sicam, the “fair of recovery
It is from the words of Carlo Giobbi, founder and patron of the exhibition, that we can better understand what the next edition of Sicam will be like.
“It is certainly a delicate phase of the economy, which forces everyone to make precise, strong, courageous choices. We have designed a “Covid-free“ appointment, equipping ourselves to respect the current regulations of national and regional authorities and ready to adapt to any new situations, with the certainty of having the skills and tools to guarantee exhibitors and visitors a safe fair. In these 18 months we have maintained constant and direct contact with our exhibitors, to build with them the “fair of recovery“, sharing the desire to return to normal, to want to witness firsthand the need to give the word “Fair“ the only meaning it can and must have, that is the meeting between people“.
“A choice - continued Giobbi - that demonstrates, even with all the caution and attention of the case, how strong is the need to bring back work, production and the economy to the way we knew it. We've all been able to adapt to the limitations imposed by the lockdown, to privilege digital events and ways of working that are valuable but which - when all is said and done - have proved not to be the solution, but a certainly interesting way of dealing with the emergency. New ways of doing, working and communicating that in the future will enrich certain experiences, but that can never replace the trade fair, the physical meeting - whether planned or casual - and the possibility of understanding more and better, of touching, of grasping and sharing signals and emotions...“.
Sicam 2021: a partially renewed lay-out
Sicam will be back with a partially renewed lay-out, both for the greater spaces reserved for services and common areas and for the redistribution of some areas. “Our exhibitors know our principles very well,“ Giobbi concluded. “Those who choose to be in Pordenone - and even more so those who confirm their determination and entrepreneurial ability even in such “confused“ times - are entitled to all our attention and esteem: we will do our best to have deserved their trust“.
In the coming weeks, the most intense work will obviously be on the visitor front, although the number and quality of exhibitors instills strong optimism about arrivals in Pordenone next October. You can enter the fair only after registering online (https://www.exposicam.it/it/p-707/registrazione-online/) and there will be no lack of controls at the entrance. Many registrations have already arrived from all over Europe, but there are also requests from other continents. Obviously, it will be the evolution of the world situation that will determine what will happen at Sicam, even if, as of today, everything seems to indicate that the fair, although with a strong European presence, will be able to boast an interesting quota of visitors from overseas.
