Design and technology for Freelift products
The electrically-assisted opening is not a luxury but, in fact, makes good ergonomic sense, especially in wall units. Electric operation with Kesseböhmer’s “eTouch” system will be offered as standard from the fourth quarter 2015 for “FREElift” products. The sensor reacts instantly to minimal pressure changes, so that the lightest finger pressure can activate movement. No allowance has to be made for an actuation gap, which simplifies achieving a perfectly aligned run of fronts.
“FREElight” is a new addition to the Kesseböhmer lifter family. Combining attractive looks with proven engineering, this new flap support with variable force settings is the company’s entry-level fitting for this application. The front panel is attached with a standard, widely available cup hinge. “FREElight” can be used with fronts from 270 mm high. The fitting can be installed right or left, which benefits assembly and logistics.
Also new is an opening angle stop for the “FREEfold” lifter fitting. It restricts the upward swing of the front to less than 90°, which is important if there are units above or site-specific architectural conditions. The stop eliminates the risk of collision with anything above the top of the unit or ahead of the front panel.
The opening angle stop can be retrofitted; it is simply clipped in place. The damping effect for the upper end position remains in operation – this is a USP that differentiates the “FREEfold” in this type of application.
