Elcam, an innovator in the upholstery sector since 1970, processes carefully selected materials to create cushions and padding for indoor and outdoor furniture and for the nautical sector. Elcam: Certified Sustainability 

Elcam has always been attentive to sustainability, which it considers to be a value to be defended in the entire production process: from the materials to the machinery used, as attested to by the numerous certifications obtained by the company. 

Years of research have led Elcam to produce eco-friendly materials such as Aerelle® Blue and BIO, used in the upholstery industry to create high performance, environmentally friendly cushions. 

Its commitment is certified by Safety Data Sheets relating to Harmful Substance Testing, which state that Elcam uses only "certified and tested water-based glues". 

The company has also obtained the certification called Greenguard, issued by UL Environment, which helps manufacturers to create and buyers to identify products and materials that release low chemical emissions.

Two eco-friendly materials 

There are two new eco-friendly materials proposed by Elcam: Aerelle® Blue and BIO, both used in the furniture industry. 

Aerelle® Blue is a recycled polyester upholstery obtained and created from recycled plastic, supplied by Plastic Bank, a global organisation known for its environmental mission of preventing waste from reaching beaches and oceans. Once collected, the plastic is cleaned and recycled into Social Plastic®. It is then transformed into flakes that are processed into soft, supple, comfortable fibres that provide a well-balanced microclimate. 

Aerelle® Blue boasts a holistic global certification, the GRS (Global Recycle Standard), with the aim of raising awareness and promoting greater environmental responsibility and more sustainable development within the textile industry. 

BIO is a 100% recycled biodegradable material. Thanks to its innovative composition, it guarantees excellent performance: light, soft and comfortable, durable, with excellent thermal insulation and water resistance, it is easy to clean and maintain. 

A perfect material for the outdoor and marine sectors 

Waterproof® is the water-repellent fabric exclusive to Elcam that is used for all outdoor production. 

Its technologically advanced processing makes it a perfect material for the outdoor and marine sectors. Products made from this fabric are water and weather resistant (sun, wind and rain), of excellent quality, long-lasting and easy to maintain, because they are easy to clean and stain resistant. The spray tests carried out prove its water repellency: Waterproof® exceeds all levels reaching the highest ISO index. 

Waterproof® is also a TB117, 1IM, British Standard certified material.
