Egger, a manufacturer of wood-based materials, has been honored by two renowned sustainability ratings: for the first time, it was awarded the coveted EcoVadis Gold Medal, while in the ISS ESG rating, it once again received Prime Status as an industry leader.
For the Egger Group, sustainable management is a fundamental aspiration. As Thomas Leissing, CFO and Group Management Spokesman, says, “For us, sustainable management is not just a figure of speech. We have high standards for our sustainability management and transparent reporting. We are constantly striving to improve. We are very pleased that we have been able to do that.”
Good sustainability performance
Analyses by external ESG rating agencies always provide valuable insights that Egger follows to achieve its goals and make any further improvements.
For the sixth time, the Egger Group's sustainability performance has been recognized by EcoVadis, one of the world's largest sustainability rating providers, achieving the Gold Medal for the first time this year. This means that Egger is now among the top 5 percent of all companies rated by EcoVadis globally and across all sectors. The assessment is based on 21 criteria, divided into the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
ISS ESG, one of the leading rating agencies in the sustainable investment segment, has for the fifth time awarded the Egger Group Prime Status in the Corporate Rating, reserved for the best companies in their respective sectors. Also in this rating, Egger further improved its performance for which it was named a leader in its sector.
Valuable: the new sustainability magazine
The Egger Group has always been careful to apply high standards of transparency to its business activities and to provide accurate information on the status of the realization of its goals.
It is precisely with this in mind that Egger is publishing for the first time its new sustainability magazine, VALUABLE (VALUABLE), in which the company's experts take readers on a journey about the many sustainability projects at Egger's international plants. For example, the construction site of the power plant under construction at the St. Johann in Tirol (AT) plant to expand renewable energy supply is presented. Or one can follow the journey of recycled wood and experience how it is reused in the production of new high-quality particleboard at the Hexham (UK) plant.
