Trends that emerged at the latest Salone del Mobile in Milan point to a growing desire for harmony in interior furnishings, where contrasts are being replaced by fluid combinations and where materials, colors and shapes are blended in an elegant and refined way. 

Egger, a specialist in wood-based products, has successfully implemented these trends in its Decor 24+ Collection: natural materials such as travertine and a soft color palette are able to create a harmonious and timeless atmosphere in interior and furniture design.

The “Capsule” Concept

To make it easier to identify trends for furniture with suggestions on possible combinations of decors and surfaces from the 24+ Decors Collection, Egger has come up with a new tool: the “Capsule” concept. This is an innovative method of offering advice on decors and different possible combinations selected from the wide range of products in the collection. The German Design Award 2024 gave the “Winner” award to Egger's “Capsule” concept in the category “Excellent Communication Design - Online Publications.” (Excellent Communication Design - Online Publications). 

Klaus Monhof, Head of Decor and Design Management at the Egger Group, explained that one can “use the ‘Capsule’ concept to perfectly demonstrate the benefits of consulting, flexibility and rapid implementation options.”

The Capsule “Milan - Evolving Harmony”

Specifically, the “Capsule” designed by Egger and named “Milan - Evolving Harmony” offers a selection of coordinated decors and recommended surfaces from the 24+ Decors Collection, inspired by Milan trends. And this is how Monhoff explains the features of the Capsule: “Due to their texture, natural stones such as travertine add a special touch to each design: they initially create a contrast and then blend harmoniously into the overall image. The designs are often combined with a range of muted colors, from beige to several warm shades of gray, to create an inviting, harmonious and timeless atmosphere. The flowing color combinations of neutral solids and elegant authentic woods create a balanced overall image.” 

Therefore, this Capsule suggests neutral colors, warm tones, mostly tone-on-tone material combinations, soft and delicate design to achieve a harmonious and timeless atmosphere in interior and furniture design.
