The General Assembly of Eumabois, the European Federation of National Associations dedicated to the woodworking technology sector, took place in Vienna.
After last year's online edition, this year the delegates and the members of the Board of Directors met as guests of the Austrian association FMTI, together with the President of Eumabois, Jürgen Köppel and the Vice President, Luigi De Vito.
The focus of the meeting was the international picture of the woodworking industry, which is experiencing a rapid recovery with very positive figures, despite the general increase in raw material prices that is also affecting this sector.
The forecast sees a sustained growth rate in the medium term, following high global demand and reflecting the industry's good response to the Coronavirus crisis. Digitization and industrial automation, major trends of the moment, as well as the growing demand for home furniture and kitchens are having an important impact on the woodworking industry.
As for the trade shows organized by Eumabois, most of the exhibitions scheduled in the first part of this year have unfortunately been cancelled, but there is hope for a busy trade show calendar for 2022. There are two major exhibition events: HolzHandwerk in Nuremberg in March and Xylexpo in Milan with a new date in October.
Important news also on the technical project front, such as OPCUA, (Open Platform Communication Unified Architecture), presented to the public under the name "IZY," during Ligna Innovation Network on September 27, 2021.
The annual meeting in Vienna was also the occasion to formalize the online launch of the new Eumabois website with completely renewed and modern graphics.
The new web page provides users with all the information and updates about the federation and its associations. The main objective of the site redesign was to create a responsive and more valuable communication platform, easily accessible from any device.
The site, dedicated to the national associations, to the companies that are part of them and to all the organizers of the fairs promoted by Eumabois in the world, is also richer in content. In addition to the main projects at European level, the site contains the latest news on the fairs that are part of the Eumabois network.
The next Eumabois General Assembly will be held on September 22-23, 2022 in Krakow, Poland.
