One year after the communication of a commercial partnership between Egger and Cleaf, two companies globally involved in the furniture cladding surfaces and interior design sector, we moved on to the next phase, which involves the acquisition by the Austrian group of a minority stake of 27.5% in Cleaf. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the transaction.
A successful business partnership
Egger and Cleaf are two family companies that share a common strategic vision: to offer an innovative service for architects and interior designers able to combine the high aesthetic value of Cleaf's Made in Italy furniture cladding surfaces with Egger's distribution capacity.
The two companies have presented the “Cleaf presented by Egger“ collection, a selection of 27 Cleaf products including veneered panels, laminates and ABS edgings, distributed in six countries:
Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia. In February 2020 the two companies also presented themselves at the Euroshop in Düsseldorf through directly connected stands.
“We have always pursued the idea of a broader cooperation. Our business agreement has shown that together we can offer our customers the best of both worlds,“ commented both companies. The majority stake in Cleaf will continue to be held by the Caspani family. Egger stressed that he does not intend to acquire a majority stake in Cleaf in the future either.
