Circular economy and sustainable development are two fundamental pillars of the business model of Saviola Group, a leading company in post-consumer wood production and processing for the furniture industry.
The Saviola Group has published the fifth edition of its Sustainability Report, a document outlining the results of its commitment to an environmentally friendly economy.
As Alessandro Saviola, Chairman of Saviola Group, writes in his letter to Stakeholders, "The year 2023 was marked by the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of Saviola Group. An important occasion to retrace the stages that have marked the history of our company. Sustainability is certainly the main driver that has generated the greatest changes in the Group. Economic sustainability, which has brought solidity and development; environmental sustainability, which has allowed us to be forerunners of circular economy choices in our target sectors; and social sustainability, which has fostered exchange among the people who live the company's reality, opening us together with confidence to our stakeholders."

Saviola Group, The Eco-Ethical Company
Saviola Group has compiled this fifth edition of the Sustainability Report according to the "with reference" option of the Global Reporting Initiative's GRI Standards.
The goal of the document is to highlight all ESG facets of the company, from circular and sustainable processes, to products, through industrial and development plans, such as the recently approved decarbonization plan. A project that is certainly a source of pride for this Eco-Ethical Company.
Five Business Units, 15 factories, 30 collection centers and 2,000 employees are a tangible sign of the world that the Saviola Group wants to build with responsibility and transparency for its community, demonstrating how it is possible to reconcile doing business with an eco-sustainable DNA.
Environmental issues addressed in the #SaviolaTalks
Environmental, social and governance issues were presented in aggregate mode at the Holding Company level; Focuses were conducted on specific issues of interest to Saviola Group and interesting interviews were conducted with influential figures on the national and international scene collected in the #SaviolaTalks and included between the pages of the Report.
The Ecological Panel®: Saviola's green heart
Saviola's green heart is represented by the production of the Ecological Panel®, a product made entirely using post-consumer wood. In fact, with an upcycling process, waste wood can be transformed, generating a highly versatile product in the wood-furniture supply chain.
Waste wood is collected through the Savionet network consisting of various post-consumer wood collection centers located throughout Europe, starting the virtuous cycle of the Saviola model.
Once the waste wood arrives at the plants, it is then separated from non-wood materials (such as iron, aluminum, copper), allowing these other materials to be recycled as well, and once only the wood part is separated, it is selected and processed together with other components produced within the Group (glues, resins, edges, decorative finishes).
This results in Saviola's signature Ecological Panel®, which can be transformed into a finished product for the furniture industry. It is a material suitable for interior furniture, kitchens, offices, paneling and cladding for all environments.
Designing furniture with a natural and environmentally friendly material is a responsible choice that allows you to make high-performance products with the knowledge that not a single tree has been cut down, without sacrificing quality and design.
