An essential event in the sector at an international level, Salone del Mobile.Milano, now in its 57^th edition, will take place from 17^th to 22^nd April, at Fiera Milano Rho.
Showcase of excellence in quality, innovation and creativity in the furniture sector, the next edition promises to be full of presences and projects: over 205,000 m² of net exhibition space and more than 2,000 exhibitors, 650 of which are young designers at SaloneSatellite, with 22% of foreign companies.
During the press conference, held last Wednesday in Milan, Claudio Luti, President of Salone del Mobile, explained how the success of the event resides in a production system born from the meeting between small and large business owners on one side and designers and architects on the other, who work together to create and show excellence. “Today, however, to win the global challenge - he added - we must do even more: we must focus on innovation and sustainable quality, on the ability to create a system and culture, on the willingness to share information and enhance the new generations“.
The mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, has defined Salone del Mobile as a distinctive brand of Milan, an international event, a laboratory of experimentation and research, a meeting place and showcase of new businesses.
Just placing the image of Milan at the centre of the renewal process, Salone del Mobile.Milano has drawn up its first Manifesto this year: an act of affection towards the city and those who contributed to its success, but also a declaration of intent that lays the foundations of a new way of thinking, creating a system and a project.

Five events will take place at the same time, in the Fiera Milano district in Rho, from Tuesday 17^th to Sunday 22^nd April, open to operators every day from 9.30 to 18.30, and on Saturday and Sunday also to the public.
The International Furniture Fair and the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, divided into the classic style typologies: Tradition in the Future, Design and xLux, will see alongside the EuroCucina biennials, with its side event FTK (Technology For the Kitchen), the International Bathroom Exhibition and SaloneSatellite.
To emphasize the link between Salone del Mobile and Milan, the event will cross the boundaries of the Fair and investigate the relationship between nature and living with an exhibition-installation that will be placed in Piazza del Duomo, in front of the Royal Palace and will remain open until April 29th. Inside a pavilion designed and developed together with the international design and innovation firm Carlo Ratti Associati, the exhibition “Living Nature“ will address the theme of green design in the interior spaces of homes. The project aims to offer a different perspective on how to deal with the issues of environmental sustainability and climate change in order to improve our living conditions at home and in the city.
To celebrate the best of ideas, creativity, innovation and technology, the Salone del Mobile.Milano Award, a great design festival, will be celebrated also this year on Friday 20^th April at Palazzo Marino.
