Training in the wood-furniture sector plays an increasingly important role, and many companies today train but above all search for manufacturing talent, young boys and girls who have a desire to learn that "know-how" that characterizes us and for which we are known and appreciated all over the world.
Porro, the renowned Made in Italy design furniture company, which has always been committed to training in the wood-furniture sector, joins "Adopt a school," the project promoted by Fondazione Altagamma in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Merit, now in its third edition and aimed at building a virtuous relationship between technical-professional schools and Italian luxury companies. The "Adopt a School" project.
Associated with Altagamma since 2017 with the aim of preserving and promoting its cultural heritage, Porro embraces this initiative, renewed in the memorandum of understanding signed on January 23 in Rome by Minister Giuseppe Valditara and Altagamma President Matteo Lunelli, which has obtained the patronage of the European Commission, and which falls, for the school year 2023/24, within the activities of the European Year of Skills (EYS), promoted by the same Commission.
Porro is one of the nine new Altagamma companies involved in this third edition of "Adopt a School," joining the 22 already active in the project for a total of 31 companies and 37 "adopted" schools in 11 Italian regions, for a total - over the three years - of more than 120 activated classes and more than 2,500 students.
Preserving local traditions and "know-how"
With cutting-edge industrial production and a strong international vocation, Porro has always maintained a deep connection with the Brianza area in which it operates. The company's focus on sustainable design also includes social commitment, which is reflected in its search for local labor and its collaborative relationship with neighboring schools to preserve the traditions and "savoir faire" of the area.
For this reason, Porro has activated an agreement for the years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 with the Enaip Training Center in Cantù to implement professionalizing training courses. The training module offers students the opportunity to learn in a real situation a complete and complex production cycle, to acquire knowledge about the materials used, production line, characteristics of departments, construction types up to the final product and its presentation in the showroom, with both cognitive and theoretical and practical moments.
