Laminam, a globally acclaimed company in the design and production of high-quality ceramic slabs, has always put sustainability at the center of its strategic development vision. This mission is now strengthened thanks to a specific 15 million euro loan from Intesa Sanpaolo, as part of the banking group's commitment to accompany companies in the environmental transition and provide support for PNRR-related investments.
Intesa Sanpaolo has made available this financing called S-Loan, which supports the needs of the productive fabric with dedicated facilitated conditions, thanks to the rate reductions that will be recognized when ESG improvement targets are achieved.
Technical and technological solutions for environmentally sustainable products
The Modena-based company will invest these funds in R&D to adopt new technical and technological solutions with which to offer increasingly eco-sustainable products to the market with the aim of strengthening its commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) areas for greater social responsibility.
Alberto Selmi, CEO of Laminam, says, “We are proud to continue our R&D journey with a sustainable approach. This has also been made possible thanks to Intesa Sanpaolo, an always attentive partner that supports us by investing in ESG projects, which are very important for our company. In fact, the R&D activity carried out in recent years has allowed us to present, during the last Salone del Mobile, twO, the thinnest slab in the world, and to pursue, as a leader in the market of large ceramic surfaces, our environmental sustainability goals.”
Laminam's “twO”: a conscious choice
With the recent development of “twO,” Laminam has marked a real turning point in the world of ceramic surfaces with a conscious choice that precisely focuses on sustainability. Created from recycled and totally recyclable materials, the use and production of twO slabs has a positive environmental impact on the entire supply chain. In fact, the thin thickness, only 2mm, allows for a lower use of raw materials and an optimization of the entire product life cycle: the firing phase is faster and occurs through the use of hybrid kilns (electric/gas) powered in part by Fiorano's photovoltaic park; transportation is also reduced against a significantly lower overall weight.
After a preview at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, twO slabs will be presented at Cersaie in Bologna (Sept. 23-27).
Laminam at Sicam 2024
Laminam will also participate in Sicam 2024 in Pordenone (Oct. 15-18 ) where it will present a range of innovative products designed to meet the technical and aesthetic needs of the furniture industry. Also at Sicam, the company will highlight its commitment to sustainable practices, showing how its ceramic surfaces are not only beautiful and functional, but also environmentally friendly.
