Entries are now open for the 2023 edition of the HIMACS European Architecture & Design Awards, the competition that is a splendid showcase of excellence in the architecture and design sectors, highlighting the great collaboration between Solid Surface HIMACS and European designers, architects and builders. 

The prize is awarded to the best projects in the architecture and design sectors that best express creativity and the spirit of innovation.

Four categories for the competition 

The competition has four categories: HIMACS Interior Design Innovation rewards interior design projects that enhance the versatility and aesthetics of the Solid Surface HIMACS material in interior spaces; HIMACS Commercial Design Excellence rewards the design and functionality of the material in commercial spaces. The HIMACS Exterior and Facade Excellence award is given to the best achievements in the design of exterior spaces and building facades made with HIMACS, highlighting innovative and aesthetically pleasing solutions, and finally, the HIMACS Furniture and Product Design Innovation rewards creativity and craftsmanship in furniture and product design, highlighting the use of HIMACS materials in functional and appealing designs. 

The deadline to nominate projects for the HIMACS European Architecture & Design Awards is 15 January 2024.

Art, design and craftsmanship 

The awards will be designed and made by Lena Marie Emrich, a renowned Berlin-based artist, known for her creative skills in sculpture and design. Her artistic vision has left its mark on the contemporary art world with its mix of creativity and craftsmanship. The artist was also chosen for her extensive experience in using the HIMACS Solid Surface material for her works. 

The HIMACS European Architecture & Design Awards aim to enhance creativity and the shared desire to explore stimulating artistic expressions in architecture, design and the art world. Each award, made of HIMACS Solid Surface material, is not only a symbol of the highest standards of design and craftsmanship, but also a representation of the strength and beauty of this material.
