- Technological materials for furniture
Once again this year, Scapin Group, a specialist in the processing of marble, granite, composite materials and agglomerates for the building and furnishing industry, participated with its brands Marmo Arredo and Quartzforms®, at the Salone del Mobile in Milan. The design of the stand was entrusted, for the third consecutive year, to Studio Stefano Boeri Interiors, which was able to highlight the surfaces and numerous new products.
Ecotone™: the surface in recycled components
Among the novelties presented by Quartzforms®, the Scapin Group brand specialised in the production of quartz mineral surfaces, four new surfaces that expand the Ecotone™ - New Era collection, launched last year.
Quartzforms® Ecotone™ collection - New Era, Mahal surface
The result of significant research and experimentation, Ecotone™is the new generation of slabs made from recycled components, resin derived from bio compound and with a crystalline silica content of less than 5%. Through the most advanced technology applied to quartz, Ecotone™offers a low environmental impact alternative while maintaining excellent technical performance such as resistance to impacts, scratches, stains and acidic substances.
A new concept in interior design
In nature, the ecotone is a transitional environment between two ecosystems or, more generally, between two homogeneous yet distinct entities.Ecotone™ stands precisely as a transitional material between technical quartz, produced with a traditional methodology, and a more cutting-edge surface that places its main focus on respecting our planet. In fact, the production of Ecotone™ slabs uses 60 percent energy from wind power and includes the recycling of the water used.
“Today we can proudly say,” explains Marco Scapin, Art Director of Scapin Group, “that we have achieved a fundamental goal: the research and development of products with a minimal impact on the environment, thanks to the use of energy from renewable sources, such as wind and solar power, and the almost total recycling of the water used for processing. On this basis, we bring to life projects of inestimable beauty, which are proving to be a valuable source of inspiration for the most creative designers: this is our contribution to a new, evolved conception of interior design.”
Ecotone™ Collection- New Era: four new surfaces
Ideal for use as kitchen countertops, as well as bathroom and wall and floor coverings, the surfaces in the Ecotone™- New Era collection are available in gloss and matte finishes, in 320 x 155 cm format and 2 or 3 cm thickness.
The four new surfaces in the collection are Mahal, Lasa, Poseidon and Crono.

Mahal features very fine, stippled veins on a beige background creating a warm, refined surface. Lasa is characterized by a warm white background against which appear gray veins and copper and bronze mottling in an oblique direction, creating a material with a strong identity.
Marked lines and veins distinguish Poseidon, whose gray-colored texture stands out against the crystalline white background. A versatile surface that fits into any environment giving brightness and character. Lastly, a symbol of refinement and elegance, the black color characterizes Crono whose white and bronze-colored veins create a play of contrasting tones.
Unprecedented aesthetic and functional relationships
Scapin Group continues in its desire to tell its story through a dual narrative that features, on the one hand, the group's ability to propose innovative surfaces and, on the other, its sensitivity to proposing new design solutions for the world of architecture and interiors through the Marmo Arredo brand. Related to this is the theme of the 2024 collections, “Synapses between surfaces,” which, through creative collaborations with designers and companies, aims to propose novel aesthetic and functional relationships between surfaces and materials that are different from each other, expanding their application possibilities.

These include the new collection of furniture born from the collaboration with Inedito Asnaghi and the new Ecotone bathtub made together with Geromin and, again, the new flooring solutions developed together with Mardegan Legno. Also present at the stand is the Chiglia collection of tables and consoles, signed by Stefano Boeri Interiors in the version with Ecotone top and glass legs that stands out for its essentiality and formal elegance.
