At the last General Assembly of Acimall, the association representing Italian manufacturers of technology for the wood and furniture industries, held on June 3 in Baggiovara, Modena, Italy, members unanimously approved the board's proposal to proceed with the process to create the Federation Confindustria Macchine per ceramica, legno, plastica e gomma, imballaggio e confezionamento.
Time for new choices
This important choice is the first step toward a new project that will enable Acimall to offer additional services and, above all, a new vision to its members.
The new organization aims to bring stronger representation to Confindustria and to the political and economic life of the country.
Confindustria Macchine will represent about 1,300 companies employing 70,000 people with a total turnover of 19 billion euros, more than 75 percent of which comes from exports, making an important contribution to Italy's trade balance.
"It is time to make new choices that will allow manufacturers of capital goods to face an increasingly competitive market with sharper weapons," commented Acimall President Enrico Aureli, among the first supporters of this ambitious project.
Together to face increasingly complex challenges
The new Confindustria Macchine Federation will offer additional services, consulting and training to member companies of the four confindustrial associations that have joined the project to date, namely Acimall, Acimac (ceramic technologies), Amaplast (plastic machinery) and Ucima (packaging technologies).
"The partnership with Acimac, Amaplast and Ucima," Aureli explained, "will allow us to express our positions even more strongly in an increasingly global scenario, in which the challenge with Chinese and other emerging countries' offerings will have to be faced with rules that apply to everyone. Not only that: together we will be able to give broader answers to the challenging issue of the ecological transition of our companies and to the thousands of new topics that entrepreneurs have to face in a world characterized by increasingly complex challenges."
During the Acimall general meeting, the association's budget was also approved and the budget of its operating arm Cepra was illustrated.
