Also this year Brera Design District is on stage in Milan from 8 to 14 April on the occasion of Fuorisalone 2019. Now in its tenth edition, the Brera Design District confirms its leading role in the design promotion districts, during the Milan Design Week, registering every year an increasing number of events, exhibitors and visitors.
The numbers of last year's edition are proof of this: in 2018 Brera Design District recorded a record edition with 210 events, 395 exhibitors and over 350,000 visitors.
Organized by Studiolabo, an agency and creative studio formed by a team of professionals specializing in communication design, as every year Brera Design District proposes a theme and the award Lessons in Design.
This year's theme is “Design your life“, inspired by the book by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans “Designing Your Life: How to Build a Well-Lived, Joyful Life“ and intended to be an invitation to design one's own life.
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Brera Design District, the “Design Lessons“ award will also reflect on this theme, with the development of ten vertical themes, ten ways in which the main theme “Design your Life“ can be interpreted by ten professionals, designers and researchers.
Events of the Brera Design District
There are numerous events, presentations and installations on the calendar.
Among these, we would like to point out Planetario, an interior design project conceived and created by Cristina Celestino for Besana Carpet Lab and presented at the Brera Design Apartment. Also as part of the Brera Design Apartment are presented some formats developed in collaboration with several partners selected with the aim of animating the apartment with events dedicated to the world of design, art and communication. The formats planned for this year are: Canvas Talks with Casa Canvas, Coffee Room with Casamenu, How to be digital with simple fair, Design Data with Laura Traldi and Kitchen tools with Andrea Vigna.
Among the special projects are “MateriAttiva“ by Iris Ceramica, which offers visitors a multi-sensory experience within a space that evokes a new pact between man and nature.
Fenix and Arpa HPL confirm for the fourth consecutive year their presence at Fuorisalone with the project “Tranformaterials“, curated by DWA Design Studio at Falegnameria Cavalleroni. An interactive and immersive installation dedicated to the transformation of Fenix and HPL materials, combining design, innovation and sustainability.
