Assopiuma, the association that has been promoting and certifying down and feather products according to the highest quality standards since 1981, is taking part in Milan Design Week again this year with the event Flying Softness, a journey through the nuances of natural down. 

The art director of Assopiuma, Ilaria Marelli, has in fact conceived an installation path in the three rooms of the prestigious THE POOL gallery in via Santa Maria Fulcorina 20, within the 5VIE circuit.

A poetic tale in the name of softness, comfort and lightness that starts with the selection and processing of feathers and ends with the finished product: duvet beds, upholstered furniture and garments, which constitute a certified excellence in the panorama of the Italian manufacturing industry. 

The route winds its way through three evocative rooms: the reception room, the immersive experience room and finally the contemplation room.

The reception room 

The first room abstractly visualises the controlled flight of feathers, which is precisely part of the raw material selection process. In the actual production process, the systems in fact select the qualities of feathers and down precisely according to the virtues of upward flight: the lightest and most valuable material flies the highest, selecting, from room to room, the quality and weights of the product.

The immersive experience room 

The second room sees a path of 'flying' duvet beds that create a kind of soft, sinuous labyrinth in which to lose yourself, relaxing on comfortable feather chaises longues. Light on the skin and extremely breathable, the natural down transforms rest into a 'weightless' experience of comfort.

The contemplation room 

The third room shows large down canvases that dialogue with down anoraks. A suggestive contrast between warm and cold, between lightness and protection: a meeting that reveals the beauty and harmony of two opposites that attract. 

In this journey through the Assopiuma universe, the public will be won over by the poetry of the materials, the lightness of flight and the sensation of well-being that down can offer.
