Xylexpo and Bimu: a positive synergy
Over 16 thousand unique visitors entered Xylexpo 2022, a number that rises to more than 22 thousand if we consider the entrances, or if it is calculated that a visitor may have entered several times in the four days of the fair. Of the 16 thousand unique visitors, 12,356 were registered at the entrance turnstiles and at least 4 thousand, according to initial estimates, arrived at Xylexpo from Viscom Italia, but above all from 33.Bimu.
As you know, this year Xylexpo was held for the first time in conjunction with the digital communication exhibition and with Bimu, the fair of machine tools for mechanics, organized by Ucimu. Xylexpo and Bimu, events dedicated to manufacturing technology, have undoubtedly generated a strong virtuous circle, immediately detected by the organizers during the days of the fair.
A different strategy in product presentation
"The data confirmed not only the role of Xylexpo - declared Luigi De Vito, president of the event and of Acimall - but also and above all the choices made for this edition, aimed at redesigning its contours and underlining the pillars on which the fairs of the future will have to be founded: from a different strategy in the presentation of products to a decisive emphasis on new digital services that can only enrich the essence of an exhibition ".
The satisfaction of the organizers is also linked to the fact that Xylexpo is probably the only post-pandemic fair that can boast a number of unique visitors substantially in line with the data of the last pre-Covid edition, in 2018. The presence of foreign visitors is down by a few percentage points (from 28 percent in 2018 to 25 percent in Xylexpo 2022), a decline also expected in light of the closure of markets such as China, Russia and Ukraine, which have always been extremely attentive to Italian technologies.
XIA-Xylexpo Innovation Award
During the event, the awards of the fourth edition of the XIA-Xylexpo Innovation Award were awarded once again this year, an award that has now become one of the most appreciated traditions of the international biennial of technologies for the furniture industry.
Five sections of the award: solid, panel, finish, digitization and sustainability. Significant commitment for the jury who carefully evaluated the nominations received to decide who to award the Xylexpo “Oscar” award, that wooden Dwarf designed in 2014 by Elio Fiorucci for Riva 1920.
The prize for the "Solid wood processing" section went to Paoletti Energy in Borgo Valbelluna (Belluno) for the "Iglueing PUR Hyper" gluer.
For the “Panel processing” category, the jury decided to assign an ex-equo prize to the “Hand Guard” systems of Altendorf of Minden (Germany) and to “Blade Off” of SCM of Rimini.
For the "Finishing" section, the jury identified the automatic sprayer named "Excellent Cm80" from the Makor company in Sinalunga (Siena) as the winner in the category.
Finally, the prize for "Digitization" went to the "Digital Factory" system of SCM in Rimini, while that for "Sustainability" was awarded to the Spänex wood dust extractor in Uslar (Germany).
