Linak, an international manufacturer of electric linear actuators, has been a partner in the realization of Unica, the workstation, created by Tecno in collaboration with Olivetti, to create an intelligent environment for home and office.
Compact and essential when closed, Unica opens with Linak motorized systems that can be activated by the IO.T Solutions app, revealing the work surface and the monitor that, thanks to its high refresh rate, does not tire the eyes. The workstation also provides keyboard with integrated mouse pad, multimedia kit for video conferencing, cables and connectors to connect your PC and devices.
The workstation also includes a work light that changes its temperature according to the activity performed and an ambient light that adapts to different times of the day. It is strictly sit-stand and offers users the possibility to choose the work position that best suits their characteristics.
Sit-stand desks are height-adjustable, allowing you to quickly and comfortably adapt to the work at hand at the touch of a button. You can adjust your desk to a level that's more suitable for teamwork and hold meetings in comfort, while standing allows you to hold shorter meetings. Several studies have shown that alternating between sitting and standing reduces sick days by up to 32% and results in reduced fatigue at the end of the day for many people (source: James A Levine, MD, PhD, Mayo Clinic and Selene Yeager). In contrast, another study, conducted by the Mayo Clinic, showed that employees are able to burn up to 340 more calories per day by spending two hours standing instead of sitting.
Unica, the first smart workstation for the home and office born from the collaboration between Tecno and Olivetti, is part of the Tecno ecosystem called Sintesi. In keeping with the tradition of Olivetti and Tecno, the Sintesi project is truly innovative in terms of both concept and product: the Sintesi ecosystem is composed of an ergonomic seat, the super-equipped Unica workstation and the app that manages the entire ecosystem created by IO.T Solutions. The project aims to facilitate the daily work, at home and in the office, focusing on the person and his needs with the aim of combining comfort and efficiency.
