The new headquarters of the wood furniture training centre ITS Rosario Messina Foundation in Lentate sul Seveso (MB) was inaugurated on November 8th. The project, born from the FederlegnoArredo-Aslam collaboration, aims to respond to the employment needs of companies in the wood sector and to train young people in local professions.
Two vocational training courses, one for the “Wood Operator“ qualification and another for post-graduate specialization of “Superior Technician for the product, marketing and internationalization in the Wood Furniture Sector“, to train export managers, capable of becoming ambassadors of Made in Italy all over the world.
The inauguration was attended by the President of FederlegnoArredo Emanuele Orsini, the president of the Salone del Mobile.Milano Claudio Luti, the President of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana, the President of the ITS Rosario Messina Foundation Giovanni Anzani, the Founder and Curator of SaloneSatellite Marva Griffin, and the Director of the ITS Rosario Messina Foundation Angelo Candiani. The president of FederlegnoArredo, Emanuele Orsini, has declared himself proud of this important goal that shows that wood-furniture is a professionalizing chain, able to bring young people closer to the local professions, and at the same time to meet the employment needs.
“We strongly believe in the return to craftsmanship as a key point to ensure the continuation of Italian industrial excellence“, added Giovanni Anzani, President of the ITS Rosario Messina Foundation. Also Attilio Fontana commented: “The Lombardy Region strongly supports vocational training and this school is an excellent example of integration between education, training and work“.
The new headquarters, built entirely of wood, is located in the heart of the Brianza district, the largest Italian production system for the Wood-Furniture Chain, has an area of 3 thousand square meters, of which one thousand dedicated to a well-equipped laboratory, furnished with machinery more advanced for wood processing. The complex also hosts the SaloneSatellite Permanent Collection, a permanent space dedicated to the design of the under 35 talents selected by Marva Griffin during the Salone del Mobile in Milan.
