Marmomac, the most important world exhibition dedicated to the entire natural stone supply chain, from quarry to processed product, from technologies and machinery to tools, returns to Verona from 26 to 29 September. Now in its 57th edition, the exhibition confirms its status as the main international hub for players in the sector: last year the show was attended by more than 1,200 exhibiting companies and registered 47 thousand professional operators, 63% of whom from abroad, from 132 nations.
"In addition to its highly international profile," explains Raul Barbieri, Veronafiere Sales Director, "one of the reasons for the success of Marmomac is the decision to combine business with product culture, recognised as a universal added value for all Made in Italy production. This is why VeronaFiere, as organiser of the event, has decided to focus on this unique and non-reproducible competitive advantage in the Marmomac system as well. Marmomac, for the 2023 edition, will therefore further increase the segment linked to design solutions, connected to the world of furnishing, including and especially luxury and contract".
Relationship between natural stone and machinery
At Marmomac 2023 design, architecture and stone culture meet business: Hall 10 will host numerous exhibitions and a busy schedule of appointments, workshops and talks in the Forum area. The central theme of this edition is the relationship between natural stone and machines, in a dialogue between design and art, as also summarised in the new Marmomac campaign image.
The installation 'The Applaud', curated by Giorgio Canale, will highlight the process of creating a work of art, celebrating the contribution of the latest technology and man to natural stone.
Raffaello Galiotto, on the other hand, will curate Herbarium Mirabile, an exhibition that presents itself as an imaginary herbarium populated by artistic works in marble inspired by the plant kingdom.
For the 2023 edition of "Marmomac Meets Academies", Giuseppe Fallacara will involve Italian and foreign universities and research centres, demonstrating how in architecture there is no such thing as ancient or modern materials, but it is the way in which material is used and shaped that makes it correspond to its time. Many topics will be addressed: from the use of thin stone, to recomposed or 3D printed stone to structurally optimised stone for an eco-conscious use of the precious stone material.
On the other hand, ADI Delegation Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige will propose "Material Match Up", a collaborative project aimed at the entire stone supply chain where a series of tables organised with natural stone will be presented: compositions of materials, colours, surface processing and finishes to showcase the entire exhibition proposal at Marmomac.
The great potential of the stone sector on show
The commercial part of Marmomac will be hosted in Hall 1 of the exhibition, which this year will be transformed into "A Matter of Stone", curated in concept by Elle Decor with layout by studio Calvi Brambilla. Here, companies will exhibit projects and design products in natural stone, creating a creative space where architects, interior designers and professionals called upon to decide on the use of materials in construction and furnishing can find inspiration and applications that show the great potential of the stone sector.
