After the establishment of the Foundation's official Rosario Messina took place on February 4 in the presence of the notary, March 6, at the headquarters of the Province of Monza and Brianza, all founding members came together for a more thorough presentation of this ambitious training project. The first step on the road to operational training in fact, dates back to September 2013, with the launch of the Training Centre of the crafts of wood furniture, which is a basic course aimed at young people out of the middle school, functional to the satisfaction of the 'right- duty of education and aimed at providing employment in local firms. The newly-formed Foundation Rosario Messina was the natural development of the chosen path, and was born as a result of the decree of 13 December 2013 of the Directorate-General for Education, Training and Employment of Regione Lombardia, which approved the expressions of interest for the establishment of new foundations of institutions higher technical and design new ways of higher technical education (within the meaning of dpcm January 25, 2008) for the triennium 2013/2015. Just within the Foundation was set up the Technical Institute for the development of the house in the made in Italy “Rosario Messina,“ which delivers the training of Senior Technician for the product, marketing and internationalization in the Wood Industry furniture.
The Higher Technical Institutes are a real novelty for the Italian school system; established in 2010, represent a new industry training and an opportunity for young graduates who want to form within the technology areas identified as a priority by the European Community, as strategic for the labor market.
The newborn ITS wants to make stable and articulate the educational offer to the pursuit of technical specialization, strengthen technical and vocational education in the field of technical and scientific sector, as well as collaboration between the territory, the world of work, research scientific and professional training, promoting the orientation of young people in technical professions.
In particular, the paths provided, lasting 4 or 6 semesters (for a total of 2,000 or 3,000 hours, of which at least 30% of internship in a company), are intended for young people and adults of working age who are graduates of secondary education higher, and at least half of the teaching is delivered by trainers coming directly from the companies. The ITS Foundation Rosario Messina develops a path strongly oriented to the inclusion in the labor market and responsive to the needs of figures of professionalism within the industry Wood Furniture. The figure of the higher level technician in fact, work to promote products made in Italy related to the supply chain, which knows the production process and the specific technical characteristics. It also develops the ability to cure strategic planning, particularly in international markets, preparing the marketing plan and product communication, studying the placement in a specific market segment through industry analysis, benchmarking, research trends and potential by the new digital media; ultimately prepares, manages and controls the level of sales of products and services, monitoring customer satisfaction.
