A space to raise environmental awareness and inspire a more sustainable lifestyle: with this aim, Electrolux Group presents Electrolux EcoLine Hub, which opens to the public from 16 to 21 April, during Milan Design Week.
The installation, also designed to display some of the brand's most energy-efficient appliances, is set up inside BAM - Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano, located in the new green and pulsating heart of Portanuova, the first district in the world with double sustainability certification.
A space that reveals the company's values
The structure presents itself as a large parallelepiped perfectly integrated with the surrounding environment thanks to its mirrored walls: an evocative element capable of attracting the public's curiosity and encouraging them to enter.
The interior of the Hub, on the other hand, reproduces a real home that reveals the company's spirit and values in every detail: from the Scandinavian design, through the furniture elements to the appliances, all belonging to the Electrolux EcoLine, a selection of the most energy-efficient products.
Most energy-efficient products
The rooms are divided into two main areas.
In the first, dedicated to Taste, there is the 800 Steamboost steam oven, the induction hob with integrated filter hood, the SenseBoil 700 with the brand new SaphirMatt glass, the dishwasher and the 700 GreenZone freezer.
In the second, dedicated to Care, i.e. garment care, you can discover the new range of dryers and washing machines and the special microplastic filter. The models dedicated to garment care feature a renewed design that improves and simplifies use for users. For the first time, Electrolux washing machines are equipped with the SmartSelect interface, which adjusts the cycle time and temperature according to the user's needs and can help save water, energy and time. SensiCare+ technology saves up to 40% time, water and energy by detecting the weight of each load and adjusting the wash cycle. The SmartSave function in tumble dryers allows you to choose between more energy efficient or faster drying to save time.
Raising awareness of sustainability and the circular economy
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover all the new features of the latest appliance models. Moreover, thanks to AWorld, a mobile application that promotes the culture of sustainability through gamification, it will be possible to calculate one's own Carbon Footprint, learning about sustainability in a conscious and fun way. Thanks to the partnership with Erion WEEE, a non-profit consortium for the management and recycling of electronic waste of which Electrolux is an active member, a collection point for small WEEE will also be set up inside the Hub. There will also be a screening of "Materia Viva", a docufilm made by Erion WEEE in collaboration with Libero Produzioni to raise awareness about sustainability, circular economy and WEEE.
