The themes of the new edition are "Rethinking the creative and working space in the home" and "The fifth facade: a reflection on the roof". Once again this year, the CDC jury will award proposals focused on environmental friendliness and sustainability, conceptual and technical quality, creativity and innovation.
The themes of the CDC16
There are two themes of the Cosentino Design Challenge that will inspire participants to develop their projects: one in the Design category and one in the Architecture category.
In the Design category, this year's theme is "Rethinking the creative and working space in the home". The objective is to develop innovative projects designed for working at home.
In the Architecture category, the theme is "The fifth facade: a reflection on the roof". Proposals in this category should combine energy use with livability, sustainability and design.
The CDC leaves students free to develop their own projects with only one requirement: the final project must include some of Cosentino's innovative surfaces: Silestone®, Dekton® and/or Sensa by Cosentino®.
Applications are now open and can be submitted until June 1, 2022. Also in June, the verdict of the jury will be announced, composed of a professor from each school participating in the initiative, an internationally renowned architect or designer and a Cosentino representative. For each category there will be three first prizes of 1,000 euros each and three second prizes.
Supporting the talent and creativity of tomorrow's professionals
Through the Cosentino Design Challenge, the Cosentino group aims to support the talent and creativity of future generations of professionals. The competition thus becomes an important opportunity for students to come into contact with innovative materials and surfaces that, tomorrow, they will be able to use in their work projects.
Cosentino Design Challenge enjoys the support and collaboration of 31 national and international schools and universities, as well as professionals in the field, demonstrating the prestige of the initiative.
